Accommodation Procedures

  1. Students must self-identify their need for accommodations and self-advocate at all times.
  2. Students must meet with a staff member in the Student Success Center to discuss accommodation eligibility. Arrangements for accommodation are made on an individual basis and are designed to equalize access to educational opportunities.
  3. Students must sign a release form so that the designated ADA staff member in the Student Success Center can communicate with course instructors.
  4. A set of letters listing the appropriate accommodations will be prepared. Students can pick-up their letters at the Student Success Center and hand deliver them to their professors.
  5. Students must present their accommodation letters to their professors within three days of receiving the letters, in order to receive exam accommodations. Professors need sufficient notice.
  6. Students should schedule an appointment with the designated ADA Coordinator if (1) they need to modify their accommodations request; (2) they are experiencing academic difficulties; or (3) have questions or need advice.
  7. Students should arrange an individual appointment with their professors to discuss their accommodation needs during the first week of the semester.
  8. Late requests for accommodations may cause a delay in the requested services.
  9. Student must meet with the administrative assistant for the Student Success Center who will coordinate routine testing accommodations and oversee testing center procedures.
  10. Students must sign an agreement acknowledging their understanding of the accommodation process and agreeing to adhere to testing center procedures.
