The School of Exercise Science and Sport (ESS) in the College of Professional Studies at Millikin University invites applications for an Instructor or Assistant Professor faculty position. We seek innovative candidates who can contribute to the educational mission of the School of Exercise Science and Sport. Candidates will have opportunities to instruct students in the Exercise Science, Physical Education, and Sport and Recreation Management undergraduate programs and in the Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program. The position is a ten-month contract, beginning August 1, 2025.
Qualifications for the position include:
- Clinical or academic degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education, Sport and Recreation Management, Athletic Training, or related field.
- Master's accepted, Doctorate preferred.*
- Contemporary expertise in one of the ESS areas congruent with areas of teaching.
- Certification and in good standing with Board of Certification, Inc. (BOC) to teach in the MSAT program.
- A minimum of one year of postsecondary level teaching experience.
- Commitment to teaching, scholarship, and service at the university level.
- Professional qualities that advance successful collaboration within the School of Exercise Science and Sport and across the University.
*Tenure-track Assistant Professor status requires a terminal doctoral degree.
Responsibilities of this appointment include teaching, scholarship/artistic achievement/ professional engagement, and University service. Teaching assignments are based on expertise. Additional responsibilities include advising and mentoring students, participating in recruiting, maintaining a scholarly agenda consistent with Millikin University's mission, vision, and values, as well as accreditation standards. Participation in program, school, college, and university service is also required.
