The Systems Analyst/Developer is responsible for analyzing, optimizing, and improving our processes to enhance efficiency, data accuracy, and user experience, as well as supporting administrative systems by providing technical support, training, and guidance to departments and end-users. The position requires a strong understanding of PL-SQL, SQL, React, GraphQL, APIs, and similar technologies.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:  

Primary Responsibilities

  • Systems Development & Integration: Collaborate with others to integrate, enhance, and maintain the Student Information System (SIS) and student portal using technologies such as GraphQL and React.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct data analysis to identify trends, ensure data integrity, and support data-driven decision-making. Provide actionable insights to improve SIS functionalities and student outcomes.
  • GraphQL API Management: Develop and optimize GraphQL APIs to enhance system connectivity and improve application data processing and analytics.
  • UI/UX Enhancements: Work on front-end development using React to improve the user interface, ensuring a seamless and intuitive experience for both students and administrators.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze current processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop strategies for improvement to optimize workflows and data management.
  • Collaboration:  Work closely with IT, academic, and administrative teams to ensure processes align with users' needs.
  • Training & Documentation: Train staff and faculty on updates and improvements. Document new processes, workflows, and system changes.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws but may provide daily direction and assistance to student employees.    

 

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to succeed in a result-driven professional organization. Maintaining professional performance, demeanor, team-approach and focus on results while working under pressure in a dynamic environment. Customer, budget, quality and delivery conscious mindset. Ability to establish priorities, work independently with minimal supervision and facilitate teamwork. Highly organized, with the ability to plan, execute and multitask to meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail. 

 Minimum Education and/or Experience  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Strong background in data analysis and understanding of databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
  • Proficiency in reporting and data visualization tools.
  • Proven experience working with GraphQL and React for system development and integration.
  • Experience with student information systems (SIS) or similar enterprise-level systems is highly desirable.
  • Ability to map and improve processes, driving efficiency and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Self-driven and able to learn with or without formal training.
