Hee Young Choi is an Associate Professor in the School of Education. He mainly teaches ESL and bilingual education endorsement courses to teacher candidates. His research and teaching focus on helping pre-/in-service teachers recognize the value of diversity and bilingualism in the United States and assist in developing critical cross-cultural understanding. In addition, he focuses on diversity in terms of cultural background and linguistic competence and builds an academic community to support ELLs' learning within social groups and everyday activities. Hee Young earned his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2012.
