Abstract/Description:

This collection of digital art is the truest reflection of myself and the work that I have a passion for. Within these pieces is art that proposes thoughts and evokes emotions that may relate to the viewer’s own life. These pieces take you on a journey that can be seen, digested, comprehended as you will. What you see is a compilation of emotions that transition into differing mindsets, altering the subject and color palette along the way. What starts at a bleak and dreary place, blooms into something more — however what that “more” may be, is up to you.

Designing and Marketing an Audio Plugin

Abstract/Description:

In this presentation, I will dive into how I marketed an audio plugin for Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) that I coded and designed myself. I will discuss my design process for the Graphical User Interface (GUI) of the audio plugin, show how the plugin affects an audio track, and explain my marketing process through flyers, social media content and much more. I will present the data analytics from my marketing process to show its effectiveness.

Billboard Design

Abstract/Description:

In my senior capstone project, I explored the complex realm of billboard design. I’ve become familiar with the specialized software that industry pros use to create billboards, such as Illustrator and Photoshop. Considering the need for exact measurements, I have researched the rules required to keep size correct and make sure every design fits perfectly on a billboard’s enormous canvas. I have created eight unique billboards, each designed to promote a range of services or goods, using carefully created new branding. I have explored animation, using animated elements in one of the billboards to demonstrate my imaginative approach.

Abstract/Description:

A multimedia production directed and performed by Kyle McMillen, Reflections on the Nature of Water is a marimba solo piece by Jacob Druckman. Each movement  is accompanied by a secondary piece showcasing a different aspect of “the natural properties of water.” Pieces incorporate video and audio that brings the audience into my world, creating an all-encompassing project that encapsulates everything I am passionate about, lighting, audio, video, graphic design, performance, entrepreneurship and collaboration. This production will be an amazing artifact to show off my skills in technical, design and performance while illustrating the possibilities for students at Millikin University.

Abstract/Description:

Ever since I joined Multimedia Communications I’ve been interested in recording and editing audio. For my capstone, I decided to make a podcast. The topic I decided to talk about was model trains because it is a favorite hobby of mine that I would like to discuss with people. I knew I didn’t want to do this alone so I reached out into the community and found some hosts. My co-hosts were Larkin Parr, Caleb Easter, Mike (Kisco Falls) and Corey T. We all do three rail O scale and we all met in the O scale community on Instagram.

I will be presenting a trailer for my ten-minute short film, Campus Crush. The film is a romantic comedy about a girl bumping into a guy and it turns into a crush. My presentation will show off some of the key points of the film and its production without giving away too much of the movie’s overall plot.

In Connecting the Arts to a Modern Audience, I will present the innovative ways in which the art discourse communities are reaching their audience. Throughout the spring semester I have been collecting interviews, observing spaces and absorbing texts that center how artists and art organizations are able to connect to patrons in a time where authentic connection is becoming rare. The presentation will consist of a multimedia approach including lecture, PowerPoint and zine handouts.
