Macon County Juvenile Justice Council

The Macon County Juvenile Justice Council (JJC) was established in 2009 to address the issue of juvenile delinquency. We recognize that youth are our most valuable resource and we accept the developmental challenges they may pose as our community's personal responsibility. Some of the programs that have been created to help address these issues are Teen Court, Truancy Court, Redeploy Illinois: Community A.C.C.E.S.S., Second Chance Reentry, Safety Net Works, and Truancy Review Board.

Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority

The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority is a state agency dedicated to improving the administration of criminal justice. The Authority brings together key leaders from the justice system and the public to identify critical issues facing the criminal justice system in Illinois, and to propose and evaluate policies, programs, and legislation that address those issues.

Illinois Association for Criminal Justice

The IACJ is dedicated to the efficient and effective application of justice resources through the utilization of proven practices in reducing recidivism and restoring individuals to a place of stability and productivity in their communities.

Midwestern Criminal Justice Association

The Midwestern Criminal Justice Association was founded in 1977 with the goal of fostering better communication and collaboration among criminal justice researchers, academics, and practitioners within the Midwestern United States and beyond. We are affiliated with the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, our national organization. We convene an annual meeting every fall which showcases some of the important work being done across the region. We also sponsor the Journal of Crime and Justice as an outlet for high quality articles related to the field of criminal justice.

Adult Redeploy Illinois

Adult Redeploy Illinois was established by the Crime Reduction Act (Public Act 96-0761) to provide financial incentives to local jurisdictions for programs that allow diversion of non-violent offenders from state prisons by providing community-based services.

Macon County State’s Attorney Office

The State’s Attorney is the Chief Law Enforcement Officer for Macon County, and is the Chief Legal Adviser for the county.

Political Science Plagiarism Policy

The goal of this policy is for students to correctly cite, paraphrase, and write in their own voice. Plagiarism is the uncited use of another's words, ideas, or work. Self-plagiarism is the use of one's own work for multiple assignments that has not been approved by faculty. Consequences of plagiarizing are a zero on the assignment, redoing the assignment for no credit, and a letter is sent to the registrar, dean, and to the student explaining that the student has plagiarized in the course. When the plagiarism is severe enough on one assignment (i.e. the entire paper) or has occurred multiple times in the single course, consequences are failure in the course indicated by an XF and a letter written to the registrar, dean, and student will be sent. All written assignments in Political Science will be submitted to Turnitin.com and all faculty in Political Science have been trained to use this website. Any concerns about this policy can be addressed by the chair of the Political Science Department.
