Expand your worldview and take on complex intellectual challenges that will prepare you for graduate studies, law school or to take an alternate approach to arts, business, science and humanities. Students can also choose between specifically designed academic tracks within their major.

Gain real-world experience by immersing yourself in Performance Learning opportunities such as Moot Court and Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl to get valuable professional experience and networks before graduation.

Meet Kayla Green, Class of 2023. Graduating with a triple major in Criminal Justice, Sociology and Philosophy (Pre-Law), Kayla maximized her time at Millikin, serving as a captain on the Track and Field team, an EDGE Program mentor and President of the Kappa Zeta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.

Programs of Study
- Criminal Justice Major
  
  A major in Criminal Justice offers a broad and theoretical view of the criminal justice process, including sociological and political factors related to crime and criminal justice, and prepare students for varied careers in criminal justice through specific coursework in these fields.
- Criminal Justice Minor
  
  The minor in Criminal Justice at Millikin University is intended to expose students to a wide range of criminology theory, concepts, and ideas.
- Criminal Justice Certificate
  
  The criminal justice minor has been a very popular option for all Millikin students, including several Flexible Learning students.
- History
  
  Studying history at Millikin University allows students to become not only masters of content, but practitioners of the discipline of history.
- History & Political Science Minors
  
  A minor may be completed by fulfilling 21 credits of which at least nine are earned in courses numbered 300 or above. The Department strongly encourages minors to take PO 105: The American Political System. Students wishing to complete a minor must consult with the Department Chair.
- Pre-Law
  
  If you’re thinking about law school, you should be thinking about getting started at Millikin. Pre-Law at Millikin is not a major, but an advising program that prepares you for law school. We prepare you to succeed in law school by through several specific strategies.
- Political Science
  
  Millikin's Department of Political Science is dedicated to developing its students' understanding of the political world at both the domestic and international levels.
- Psychology
  
  This major will provide you with an understanding of psychology from its most basic level (neuroanatomy) to its most interactional level (sociocultural).
- Psychology Minor
  
  The minor in psychology is an excellent complement to other majors. Elective coursework will allow you to select courses to tailor the minor to your needs.
- Sociology Major
  
  A major in sociology provides the student with an understanding of the social causes of human behavior, as well as a familiarity with the basic processes of social life, emphasizing effects of social stratification and social global issues.
- Sociology Minor
  
  A minor in sociology provides the student with an interdisciplinary curriculum for several majors at Millikin and is intended to compliment a student's academic profile.
- Social Science Education
  
  At Millikin, you prepare to become an outstanding teacher by taking engaging courses in U.S. and world history, political science, psychology, anthropology, and sociology.
