ST. LOUIS - Janet Elaine Huss, 65, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Evelyn's House Hospice Center, St. Louis.
Janet was born in Danville on Jan. 7, 1959, and was preceded in death by her parents, James Ernest and Marilyn Ruth (nee) Johnson of Danville; sister, Susan Huss Foertsch of Roswell, Ga.; and nephew James Lyn Pazdral of Austin, Texas. She is survived by her niece, Kendall (Chris) Leigh, and nephew Evan Foertsch.
She was a graduate of Danville High School in Danville and attended Millikin University, studying childhood development. Janet moved to St. Louis when she was a young adult. She enjoyed several years of working at the Clayton Early Childhood Center before entering the field of property management with Turley Martin on the Edward Jones account. She was working for Commerce Bank at the time of her passing, having worked there for 22 years. Janet enjoyed being outdoors, taking long walks, going to the Kirkwood pool and frequenting summer concerts in the area, ensuring to attend all Motown bands. She enjoyed dancing and would frequently "cut a rug."
Janet was a gifted artist who loved animals, laughing and being with family and friends. Janet adored her family; she and her two sisters shared a special closeness, and she took immense pride in her niece and nephews' accomplishments.
Janet made many friends through work, church and neighbors and was a devoted lifelong friend to many. Janet was selfless, always prioritizing the needs of others over her own. She had a remarkable knack for recalling special dates of her family and friends, marking these occasions with cards, a uniquely perfect gift or a batch of her fudge. Her actions were a testament to her generous spirit and thoughtful nature.
