Joy Elaine Angove
June 30, 1942 - June 4, 2023
Joy Angove, age 80 of Lake City, IA, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City. Joy Elaine was born on June 30, 1942, to parents Harold and Hazel (Barth) Bruniga in Fairbury, IL. She grew up there and attended grade school and later graduated from Fairbury High School. After graduation, Joy continued her education at Millikin College in Decatur, IL achieving her Master's Degree.
On July 3, 1966, Joy was united in marriage to Jim Angove at the Webster City Methodist Church. They made their home in Lake City where Joy worked as a teacher for most of her life. She taught Elementary music and loved being a teacher to all the kids. In her free time, Joy liked to go golfing and was the Club Champion for 23 years. She also had a love for horses. Joy was very involved throughout the community and held President titles for the Top Rail Saddle Club, P.E.O., and the IASC Saddle Club.
