Kenneth Dean Probst was born on March 8, 1939, in Bingham, Illinois, the third of six children to Herbert Victor and Eva Magdalene (Bracken) Probst. He entered into rest on February 6, 2024, at Carthage, Missouri at the age of 84. Kenneth graduated from Mansfield Community High School in Mansfield, Illinois, and then studied engineering and business administration at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. In 1960, Kenneth and LaVerna Eck were united in marriage, and to the union two daughters were born, Anita Adams, and Vonda Cole. He designed grain bins and elevators for the feed meal industry. In the 70’s he obtained his private pilot’s license, which opened the door to the work that he loved, aviation. He worked for various companies that required his expertise, both in the lower forty-eight states and Alaska. He later obtained his A & P license, which presented more opportunities in the aviation industry. He retired in 2010 and purchased a shell home in Wasilla, Alaska, and completed the construction and finish work of the home. In July of 2021, he returned to Grove, Oklahoma from Alaska. Following the death of his wife, Judi Hall, he moved to SW Missouri to be closer to his daughters.
